How to split a PDF

  1. Drop your PDF into the box, or tap it to choose the file.
  2. Pick a mode. Extract pages saves the pages you list as one new PDF. Split by ranges saves each range as a separate PDF. Every page saves each page as its own PDF.
  3. Type the pages, such as 1-3, 5, then click Split PDF. When there is more than one file, they download together as a zip.

Examples

  • To keep only the signed page of a contract, choose Extract pages and enter 12.
  • To remove a cover page, choose Extract pages and enter 2-.
  • To break a 30-page scan into three parts, choose Split by ranges and enter 1-10, 11-20, 21-30.

Frequently asked questions

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. The PDF is split in your browser, so it never leaves your device.

Does splitting reduce quality?

No. Pages are copied as they are, so text, images and links stay exactly as they were in the original.

Can I split a password-protected PDF?

Not directly. Open it with its password in your PDF reader, save or print a new copy, and split that copy here.

How do I put pages from different PDFs together?

Extract the pages you want from each file here, then combine the results with Merge PDF.
