    How to compress an image

    1. Drop one or more images into the box, or tap to choose them.
    2. Adjust quality and maximum size if you want. The defaults work well for websites and email.
    3. Download each image, or download them all as a zip.

    Tips for smaller files

    • Resize first. A phone photo is often 4000 px wide. Shrinking it to 1920 px usually cuts the file size by 70% or more.
    • Use WebP for websites. It's usually 25 to 35% smaller than JPG at the same quality.
    • Keep PNG for screenshots, logos and images with transparency.

    Frequently asked questions

    Are my images uploaded?

No. Compression runs in your browser, so your images never leave your device.

    What quality should I use?

70 to 80% suits most photos. Files get much smaller and the difference is hard to see. Use a higher setting for printing.

How do I make an image under 1 MB or 200 KB?

Lower the max width to 1280 px and set quality to around 70%. Most photos will land well under 1 MB, and often under 200 KB.
