How to resize an image
- Choose how to resize: by percentage, to a set width or height, or to fit inside a width and height.
- Drop your images into the box, or tap it to choose them.
- Click Resize images, then download each one or all of them as a zip. You can change the settings and resize again without adding the files a second time.
Common sizes
- 1920 px wide fills a Full HD screen and works well for websites and slides.
- 1080 × 1080 px is a square Instagram post.
- 1200 × 630 px is the usual size for link previews on Facebook, LinkedIn and X.
- 800 px wide is plenty for images in an email.
Width and height with Keep proportions on fits each image inside the box without stretching it, so one side may come out smaller than the number you typed. Turn Keep proportions off to force the exact size.
Frequently asked questions
Are my images uploaded?
No. Resizing happens in your browser, so your images never leave your device.
Can I make an image bigger?
Yes, up to 400%, but enlarging can't add detail that isn't there, so big increases look soft.
Does resizing make the file smaller?
Usually. Halving the width and height leaves a quarter of the pixels, so the file gets much smaller. For the smallest files, use Compress Image after resizing.
