What each option fixes
- Trim spaces removes stray spaces at the start and end of cells, which often break lookups and matching in Excel.
- Remove duplicate rows keeps the first copy of any row that appears more than once.
- Clean headers turns column names like "First Name " into first_name, ready for databases and code.
- Fix smart quotes replaces curly quotes from Word or Google Docs with plain ones.
Frequently asked questions
Is my CSV uploaded to a server?
No. The file is read and cleaned in your browser. Customer lists and other sensitive data stay on your device.
How big a file can I clean?
Files with hundreds of thousands of rows work fine on most computers. The limit depends on your device's memory.
Will it open correctly in Excel?
Yes. The download includes a byte-order mark so Excel reads accents and special characters correctly.
