How to crop an image
- Drop your image into the box, or tap it to choose one.
- Drag the box to frame the part you want, and drag its corners to resize it. Pick a shape such as Square to lock the proportions.
- Rotate or flip if needed, then click Crop and download.
Which shape should I pick?
- Square (1:1) for profile pictures and Instagram posts.
- 4:5 for portrait Instagram posts, which take up more of the feed than squares.
- 16:9 for YouTube thumbnails, presentations and desktop wallpapers.
- 9:16 for phone wallpapers, Stories, Reels and TikTok.
- 4:3 and 3:2 match the shape of most camera and phone photos.
The size of the crop in pixels is shown under the image as you drag, so you can check it is big enough before you download.
Frequently asked questions
Is my image uploaded?
No. Cropping happens in your browser, so the image never leaves your device.
Does cropping reduce quality?
The pixels you keep are not resized, so the cropped part keeps its full detail. JPG and WebP are saved at the quality you set, 92% by default.
Can I crop several images at once?
Not yet. Each image usually needs its own framing, so this tool works on one image at a time.
