How to remove line breaks
- Paste your text into the box on the left (or the top box on a phone).
- Choose Keep paragraphs to join lines but leave blank lines between paragraphs, or Remove all for one continuous block.
- Copy the result from the second box.
Why text copied from a PDF has broken lines
PDFs store text line by line as it appears on the page, so copying a paragraph gives you a hard line break at the end of every printed line. Emails sent as plain text and text from old documents often do the same. Pasting that into a document or form leaves short, ragged lines.
This tool joins those lines with spaces. Keep paragraphs treats a blank line as the end of a paragraph and leaves it in place. The hyphen option rejoins words that were split across two lines, such as "infor-" and "mation".
Frequently asked questions
Is my text sent anywhere?
No. The text is processed in your browser and never leaves your device.
Will it remove the gaps between my paragraphs?
Not with Keep paragraphs selected. Blank lines stay, and only the breaks inside each paragraph are removed. Choose Remove all to join everything into one block.
Can it wrongly join hyphenated words?
Only when a hyphen falls exactly at the end of a line, such as "well-" followed by "known" on the next line. Turn the hyphen option off if your text has many of those.
