How to make a QR code
- Choose Link or text, or Wi-Fi to let guests join your network by scanning.
- Type the link or the network details. The preview updates as you type.
- Pick a size and colors, then download PNG for screens and documents, or SVG for print and design software.
Codes that never expire
Many QR code sites make "dynamic" codes that point to their own server, which then forwards people to your link. If you stop paying or the company shuts down, every printed code stops working. The codes made here are static: your link or text is stored in the pattern itself, so the code works for as long as the link does and nobody can switch it off.
For reliable scanning, keep the code dark on a light background with good contrast, and leave the white border around it. Choose High error correction if you plan to put a small logo over the middle.
Frequently asked questions
Is my Wi-Fi password sent anywhere?
No. The QR code is drawn in your browser, so the password never leaves your device.
Do these QR codes expire?
No. The content is stored in the code itself, with no redirect service in between, so there is nothing that can expire.
Can I track how many people scan my code?
Not with a static code. Add tracking parameters to your link, such as UTM tags, and check the visits in your website analytics.
Why won't my phone scan the code?
Check that the code is dark on a light background and has enough contrast. Very long text makes a dense code that is hard to scan when printed small, so shorten long links first.
